Mobile & Data Plan FAQs

Everything you need to know about your mobile plan, setup, roaming, security and more.

Getting Started

Contact us directly via phone on 0418 119 513 or via the contact form on our website. Our team will guide you through plan selection and get your SIM dispatched quickly. We'll also help you through the activation process.

On Android: Go to Settings → Connections → Mobile Hotspot and Tethering → Mobile Hotspot. Toggle it on, then set a name and password. On iPhone: Go to Settings → Personal Hotspot and toggle on. Make sure mobile data is enabled. Some plans may require a data-enabled plan to use hotspot functionality.

Number porting is straightforward. You'll need your current account number and authorisation from your existing provider. Once you place your order with us, we manage the port-in process. Most ports are completed within 1–2 business days. You keep your existing number and there's typically minimal downtime during the switch.

eSIM compatibility varies by device model and year. Most modern flagship smartphones (iPhone XS and later, recent Samsung Galaxy S/A series with eSIM notation) support eSIM. Check your device settings under About Phone or contact us and we'll help you confirm compatibility.

3G was the third-generation mobile network — now being phased out in Australia. 4G (LTE) offers significantly faster speeds and is available on all our plans. 5G is the latest generation, offering faster speeds and lower latency on compatible devices and select plans. Our network uses the Telstra Wholesale infrastructure covering 98.8% of the population.

Call Forwarding & Diversions

Go to your phone's Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding (iPhone) or Settings → Phone → Supplementary Services → Call Forwarding (Android). From there you can configure different forwarding scenarios.

Dial **21*[number you want to forward to]# and press the call button. To disable, dial ##21# and press call. All incoming calls will be redirected regardless of whether your phone is answered or not.

Dial **61*[forwarding number]# to enable, and ##61# to disable. This forwards calls only when you don't answer within a set number of rings.

Dial **62*[forwarding number]# to enable when unreachable. Disable with ##62#. This is useful when your phone is off or out of signal range.

Dial **67*[forwarding number]# to forward when busy (on another call). Disable with ##67#.

Dial ##002# to cancel all call forwarding types simultaneously. This is the quickest way to disable all forwarding rules at once.

Voicemail

Dial 101 from your mobile to access the voicemail setup. Follow the prompts to record your greeting and set a PIN. On iPhone you can also use the Visual Voicemail feature in the Phone app once your service is active. If you need help, contact our team directly.

Privacy & Safety

Common signs include: unexpected calls from unknown international numbers, requests for personal or banking information, urgency or threats in the message, or links to suspicious websites. Our network includes Telstra-level security to help filter known scam numbers and malicious websites. When in doubt, hang up and call the organisation back using their official number.

You can block numbers directly in your phone settings. On iPhone: Phone → Recents → tap ⓘ → Block this Caller. On Android: Phone app → Recent Calls → tap the number → Block. You can also register on the Australian Do Not Call Register at donotcall.gov.au to reduce unsolicited marketing calls.

Technical & Troubleshooting

First, ensure mobile data is enabled (MMS requires data even on unlimited plans). Then check your APN settings are correct. Go to Settings → Mobile Data → APN (Android) or Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Network (iPhone). If issues persist, try resetting your network settings. Contact our team and we'll help you configure the correct settings for your device.

3G Network Closure

Australian carriers are retiring 3G infrastructure to free up spectrum for expanded 4G and 5G coverage. The technology is outdated and the spectrum is more efficiently used by modern networks. All major carriers have now completed or are completing their 3G shutdowns.

Older handsets that only support 3G will no longer be able to make calls or use data. Devices that support 4G will continue working normally. Check your phone's specifications — if it lists 4G/LTE support, you're fine. If it only lists 3G/WCDMA/HSPA, you may need to upgrade.

If your device is 3G-only and the 3G network has been shut down, you may not be able to make emergency calls. It is important to upgrade to a 4G-compatible device. All phones on our plans support at minimum 4G, ensuring emergency call access is maintained.

If your medical alert, personal emergency response system or security device relies on a mobile connection, check with the device manufacturer whether it supports 4G. Many older devices are 3G-only and will need to be upgraded. Contact us for advice on suitable 4G alternatives.

VoLTE (Voice over LTE)

VoLTE (Voice over LTE) allows voice calls to be made over 4G data networks rather than a separate circuit-switched network. It delivers higher quality audio, faster call connection, and allows you to use data at full speed while on a call. It's required on networks that have shut down 3G.

On Samsung Android: Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → VoLTE Calls → Toggle On. On iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Options → Enable LTE → Voice & Data. If the option isn't visible, your carrier settings may need updating — contact us for assistance.

Most smartphones manufactured from 2016 onwards support VoLTE. This includes iPhone 6 and later, Samsung Galaxy S6 and later, and most modern mid-range Android devices. The Samsung Galaxy A-series handsets we sell are all VoLTE compatible.

Changing Network Settings

Go to Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Network Mode. Select "LTE/3G/2G (auto connect)" or "5G/LTE/3G/2G" for 5G capable devices. For APN settings: Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Access Point Names. Our team can provide the exact APN settings for your plan.

Go to Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Options → Voice & Data. Select "5G On", "5G Auto" or "LTE" as appropriate. For APN/data settings: Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Network. Enter the APN details provided by our team. If your carrier profile is correct, these may already be pre-configured.

On Samsung: Settings → General Management → Reset → Reset Network Settings. On iPhone: Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings. Note this will also reset Wi-Fi passwords and VPN settings. After reset, re-enter your Wi-Fi details and ensure mobile data is enabled before testing MMS.
